What a kundli shows
A kundli (also called a janam kundli or birth chart) is a map of the sky at the moment and place you were born. It places the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and the two lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu, into twelve houses.
Three things matter most. The lagna (ascendant) is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth and sets the whole house layout. The Moon sign (rashi) shows how you feel and react, and is what Vedic horoscopes are written for. The nakshatra, your birth star, decides the planetary period (dasha) that you start life with.
How we calculate it
KundliSaar calculates positions with an astronomy engine and uses the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the standard in India. Houses are counted whole-sign from the lagna. Nothing is guessed and no AI is involved in the chart itself.
If you do not know your birth time, tick the box. We then count houses from your Moon sign (a Chandra kundli) and tell you which results become less reliable. The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day, so a missing time can change the nakshatra for some people; we warn you when that applies.
