What is a Raj Yog?
A Raj Yog (Raja Yoga) forms when the lord of a kendra house (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, the pillars of the chart) links with the lord of a trikona house (1st, 5th, 9th, the houses of fortune), by sitting together, exchanging signs or looking at each other. A planet that rules both a kendra and a trikona, a Yogakaraka, is considered especially helpful.
We also look for other well-known yogas: Dhana yogas for wealth, Gaja Kesari (Jupiter in a kendra from the Moon), the five Pancha Mahapurusha yogas, Budhaditya, Chandra-Mangal, Viparita Raja Yoga and the challenging Kemadruma.
How to think about yogas
Having a yoga does not guarantee fame or money, and not having one does not rule out a good life. Yogas show potential that tends to come alive during the dashas of the planets involved. Use the result as a pointer to your strengths, then check your running dasha to see when they may show up.
